How do you copy/save a gif file that you find on a website - like an avatar with movement/animation in it - and then use it elsewhere or get it to work on your compu?
I figured out how to get smilies to work by using {img]http://www.offtopic/insert image here.gif[/img}, and that leaves the gif being hosted by another site, but if I want to save it to my compu and then post or use it elsewhere, then I lose the animation/movement. What am I doing wrong and what should I be doing? |

![]() See, I can post it here in a post, but can't do it without the img around it so can't put it in an avatar. And no, I don't want this guys avatar, but it is a good example. I think I figured it out. I was trying to load a larger gif than the site allowed for an avatar. So I was doing everything right....except that.... |

I use Adobe Photoshop, but you have to open the gif and resize it using the ImageReady side of the program. If you open the gif and resize it using the PhotoShop side, you will lose the animation and it will save as a pic. Hope this helps. If I find an avatar that I must have and it is the wrong size, then I will run it by you. |
