I've been using FF for over a year now and will never change back to IE. I have had zero hijackers infect my machine since I switched. With IE I was constantly cleaning up the mess. I don't practice safe surfing rules by any means. I also love the tabs, I hate having to navigate through multiple windows.

Yea I'm not sure I'm really buying this article. I mean its not coming from any sort of great source. For all we know the author of the article is some sort of Microsoft junky. I still get far less shit when surfing using firefox, their popup blocker works ten times better than explorer. Maybe its the despise for microsofts business tactics but Im not going back anytime soon.

It's kinda like searching for something on Google and searching for something on MSN: Google gives you a perfect match with the first link and MSN's first page of matches are all associated with Microsoft.

Firefox is a kick ass browser man - you could customize it as much as possible and make it as pretty as you want. I suggest getting the mouse gestures extension, it's pretty fun. Oh and the problem you're having shouldn't be a problem. You need to get the latest version of Firefox that usually automatically detects what plug-ins you need to view stuff.

not 100%. yes ie browser is embedded, but the IE 'engine' is there for anyone to build a browser around if they want to. the links i gave a few posts back are like that. think of the engine as an API that you can access, sort of heh, i understand completely

Default FIREFOX - Anybody use it? I need some help.
So yeah I decided to move from IE and go to Firefox. I actually like it quite a bit more. The problem I have is that I can't seem to make anything with Flash, Java, or Shockwave work in the Firefox browser [read: The games section here, Newgrounds, Yahoo Games, etc].

I've tried installing the plugins, but they don't seem to work and I don't know how to make it work either. Eh... Anyone out there that can help me? That'd be cool and much thanks from the Monkey.

it depends on what your used to. if your used to ie, then your used to ie's quirkiness and layout. if your used to netscape ( or used to be ), your probably more partial to firefox's shenanigans and scheme.
