Default My Mom and Technology
This is an e-mail I received from my mom. My brother e-mailed her a pdf of a financial aid form he needs filled out...it has been months and months of trying to explain to her how to fill it out, scan it and send it back. I finally convinced her to just let me do it, so today she wrote me:

Marissa,

This is the form I have to fill out and send to Ross. However, it won't print on my computer - I have no idea why. The printer is working because I printed something on it the top load way and it printed fine. So, I'm sending it to you to print and I'm coming by to fill it out and bring you my 1099 for 2009.

The air conditioner man is coming around noon so that's going to throw a wrench right in the middle of everything.

Please print this so I can fill it in when I get there. If you have trouble with the file, it's found in "My documents" and the name of the document is dverif1.1.pdf (application)

Thank you,

Crack-head.

I tried to explain to her that "My documents" is her documents, and not mine, so I can't get to it....at least she owns up to what she is - crack head! And she did successfully attach the file, so I guess she's better than most The "top load way" the printer "prints" is really copying. It's a scanner, copier and printer in one that I gave her...but I don't think she understands how to print from her computer, so she just copies everything and says it prints, so why won't it print from her computer?

It's always amusing to read of folk like that who aren't used to technology

Too funny! Reminds me of my grandparents. They dropped a small fortune on a computer, a super fancy printer, a nice desk, and top-notch internet service. They still don't even know how to turn it on.

she called me just now to say the AC man still hadn't shown up so she's still at home. She wanted to make sure her attachment wouldn't expire...I assured her I had already printed it out
