Default Hackers Devise Way to Remotely Shut Down Grandpa's Pacemaker
Hackers Devise Way to Remotely Shut Down Grandpa's Pacemaker

Written by Household Hacker Saturday, 09 August 2008 03:02 Hackers have figured out a way to connect wirelessly to a pacemaker and drain the battery, or to activate a jolt of electricity strong enough to stop a heart. This can only spell bad news for the pacemaker manufacturers who will have to scramble to produce a device that is more secure than current models (currently not secure whatsoever). If you had the knowledge and discovered how to stop a pacemaker remotely, would you release that information immediately? Or would you take it to the pacemaker manufacturers first? What would you do?

It's all the hackers on steroids. If pacemaker users buy dogs they'll be fine.
