Default Nuke time
Looks like I get to nuke my computer again tonight. System is running at a snails pace. Hangs when I open Outlook 2007 to check email. Anyone have any ideas??

How about ideas for a different email program?? Tried Thunderbird but it will not import from Outlook2007. Don't want to loose what I have in here, if I don't have too.

Thanx

Since Nline showed me the glory of Ubuntu, that is all i talk anymore.

i have my laptop on windows, but it is for work and i need compatibility. any other machine i have will be Linux. i don't know why people use windows as a preference, honestly.

Speaking of freeware....i updated my FF plugins today. TACO (targeted advertising cookie opt-out) has this cool new widget that shows you what cookies the website is trying to use, and allows you to block them.

If it works like it is supposed to, it is amazing.

On another side note (and i may need to make a thread on it first), have you seen "Sandboxie"? If so, what do you think? If not, check it out and let me know what you think.

one more thing....i think your outlook files will be saved as a .oft, if i am not mistaken.

check the Open Office software for the email app. it should be able to open your outlook stuff.

pirated office usually has crappy outlook. if it is a pirate version, that may explain it. personally, i was not a fan of office 2k7, except for a cool couple of excel functions that were added in. I didn't see the value of the xml capabilities, given my use of the tools. it seem to just bloat it and make it less stable.

It isn't a pirated software. Paid retail for it. I think I have found the problem though, video drivers. I deleted them and am running on XP's drivers and everything seems to run better. I am gonna check out the website and see if I can find some updated drivers and see what happens then.

I'll check out Sandboxie and get back to ya.

Later BFFT!

My laptop runs WattOS (ubuntu based) My bedroom PC runs Xubuntu (ubuntu based)
I just installed PCLinuxOS XFCE desktop on my main PC.
It dual boots with windows XP.
It's only a single core Athlon 64 but I managed to get WOW running on it fairly well to the point where I think I might be able to raid with it.

I havn't booted into windows in almost a week.
