Default Firefox error
I replaced my hard drive and when I installed fire fox it seemed to go ok. When I open it gives me a message saying

Firefox could not install this item because of a failure in Chrome Registration. Please contact the author about this problem. It comes up either 2 or 4 times, then once firefox opens it also opens the firefox add on box. is there a way to fix this or do I need to uninstall and reinstall it?

Chrome is part the rendering engine in FF.

I need more information. That error usually happens after you try to install a damaged or faulty extension.

You say you replaced your hard drive? This is a fresh install of Windows and a fresh install of FF? Did FF run at all or is this doing this on first run? If you had your hard disk replaced did the tech that did this for you restore your data? Or did you lose everything?

I lost everything. I backed it up, but when I went to replace it all I don't think it worked right because none of my pictures were back. best buy used my recovery disk to put windows and all my drivers back on. FF worked fine before the hard drive crashed, and once I got it back and went to install ff it started giving me that error.

Yep another f-up system from Geek squad.

Sounds like you have a screwed up profile.

See if you can follow the instructions here and create a new profile.

Just another reason why I would never allow the Geeks to work on anything of mine -- not even my comode.
