Do they need to be brand specific? Tell me about this please. Do you mind telling me about what you paid...?

I paid around $50 or $60 in Austin at Best Buy. You might call Abacus @687-5424 (they service HP products).

Stuck,

I got your phone call, it went to voice mail but I haven't listen to it yet.

I assume it is about this.

Two ways of going about the power cord for the laptop. You can go to Best Buy and get a generic one that works on many different kinds of laptops. Two issues with that. One is that they are expensive. Over 100 dollars. Two even if they ARE compatible and power the laptop. I've seen a few laptops get fried by them anyway. Most of the time it works....

Other option is to get the powercord and if can still read it find the part number. Search on Froogle. Get exact replacement. Or if you can make out the number from the dog teeth marks search by the model of the laptop.

Same thing for the printer. Search for the part number of the power cord or by type of printer. Most cases though a new printer is almost as cheap, unless it's a high end inkjet or laser.

It also depends on which side of the power brick the cord was chewed on.

if it's the wall outlet side it is probably really cheap to replace.
If it's the laptop side of the brick you gotta replace the wole thing because I doubt there is any cord left to splice the wire ends back together.

I doubt Stuck would want to try and do that herself and paying me to do it would cost more then finding a new replacement on eBay.

Wow.. what a waste of a printer... I hope I can find a cheap cord for it. I don't really need the printer but I hate to just let it sit there for nothing. I think it was $150 last year.
