Default AT&T U-Verse and Suddenlink
I was informed this morning that the U-Verse service is available in Midland. So what I want someone to tell me is this. Suddenlink is cable(what kind?) and it says I get this speed on my internet 8M/512K. U-Verse is Fiber Optic Cable and I can get 1.8/1.5mbps in speed.
What is the difference between these two. Also what effect would it have on my TV and Telephone to change to Fiber Optic?
I can pay $15.00 a month more for all my services and get 2 DVR's all movie channels and TV with HD and Phone with U-Verse.
So give me some feed back on this service!
Thanks

From what I hear from people who have switched from regular cable to U-Verse is that it's a lot better. I don't know specifics but if you can get all the extras for $15 dollars more a month then why not! I believe that the internet speed would be faster with U-verse than with Suddenlink.

Kat can you confirm the speeds. 1.8? 1.8 what? Gigabits, megabits? I assume it's gigabits which will be much faster (3x) then your Cable connection. If you do frequent large downloads or UPLOADS then this is worth it. Otherwise, if you are like most, you have more bandwidth then you use. I don't know what the cable offering or support for AT&T is like. I hate to deal with them on DSL issues. I doubt they would be any more a PITA and unable to understand then they are now. The only complaints I hear about suddenlink consistently is about mail and I tell clients to not use the suddenlink email and go to gmail or yahoo. Free and works.
