Default US Mil. Analyst: Obama is the First Anti-Israeli President
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/136808
From news article:

Peters says that Obama’s approach is “absolutely” a departure from past American policy. “It all started with Obama’s Cairo speech,” he said, “where Obama attempted to appease radical Muslims in the Middle East, cold-shouldered Israel, and raised Palestinian expectations that he’d take care of Israel and that the Palestinians would get their revenge. Secondly, in the past, under Presidents Clinton and Bush, there were face-to-face negotiations; the Palestinians were offered one deal after another, and it was always – always! - the Palestinians who walked away.”

Obama Refuses to Recognize the Basic Equation

The American animosity towards Israel “is not about housing in Jerusalem or anything else,” Peters emphasized. “We need to back up and get a little wide-angle picture and recognize the fundamental issue in play here: Israel wants to live in peace with its neighbors, and its neighbors want Israel destroyed. The President refuses to understand that.”

“It’s become a credo of the left-wing that Israel is always the oppressor,” Peters continued, “and that the Palestinian terrorists are freedom fighters, etc. … Obama’s mother is extremely left, his university chums are on the left, he spent 20 years with the Rev. Wright – all of their doctrines say that the Palestinians are wonderful and that the Israelis are basically Nazis... I think that the President has gotten that by osmosis… This is our first anti-Israeli President; it’s bewildering and astonishing.”

There were administrations much harsher to Israel. When Carter said fetch to Egypt and really bent Israel, he forced "peace" and withdrawal from Sinai. At that time given all the wars that were fought between Israel/Egypt this was really bending....

Lt. Col. Peters forgets Eisenhower, Carter, and George H. W. Bush who all at times got along poorly with Israel.

Obama is anti-settlements and anti-Netanyahu, but he is not anti-Israel nor is he Rev. Wright by a long shot.

I have no doubt that in his heart he believes he will bring peace to the Israelis and Palestinians, however ham-fisted and counter-productive his administration is at trying to carry that out.

...Sure we can debate who was bad, but isn't it better that we do something about it?

What can be done as to have as many Jews as possible start switching over to republican. it serves our interests and puts the politicians needs on hold. Let them claim duel loyalty amongst American Jews. Plenty of them have converted to "liberal" already and won't switch. Hopefully such acts can make a change and democrats unsure of their reelection capability may influence events as they are transpiring at this current pace.

This Iranian situation is a 1 minute Holocaust where the technology to stop an EMP attack is questionable at best. Having faith in our Arrow system or that American patriot missiles will even fire or be around at that crucial moment is questionable...

Time to act...
First of all, the Congress is already very pro-Israel. Three fourths of the Congress recently wrote to Clinton to tell her to stop bashing Israel.

Second, American Jews support Obama at much higher rates than the general population. The idea that you can get Jewish Democrats to switch to Republican in the next seven months (2010 elections) is not very likely.

Even if you could, keep in mind that it is the President who controls U.S. foreign policy. The Congress is very limited in that regard. So, Obama is going to be calling the shots until at least through the end of 2012.

We need to assume that we are on our own. For what little it is worth, vacuum tube technology is more resistant to EMP damage. Israel needs to prepare as best it can for the nuclear war that will eventually happen.
