Wow. Just had a 3 hour conversation with my best friend. Haven't heard from him in weeks, and was wondering what was up. He goes to NYC a lot, and he actually was in Zucotti and marched on the NYSE. He says everything the media is reporting about OWS is patently false. Very interesting stuff.
Those of you on Paltalk have met him before, he goes by BlackFlags. He says he'll come on tonight or another night and tell of his experiences within the movement. From what I've heard so far, it's pretty interesting stuff... |

"Patently false" in which way? There have been no murders, rapes, or other crimes? They aren't being propped up by unions? They haven't been rousted out of several locations? Which media? Mainstream, which has been pretty supportive, or conservative, which has absolutely savaged the clowns? I won't be on Paltalk, so it would be awesome to have a brief recap of his story here.

He was talking about the main stream media, actually. First of all, he said that he never saw a scrap of litter that lasted longer than an hour. They had volunteer trash crews going around. He says there was nothing unsanitary about the camp whatsoever. He said they were incredibly organized for a group with no established hierarchy. He said that the cops were complete fascist pigs (already knew that). He said he attended a think-tank that was set up by 40-ish gentlemen who were not hippies at all and had all kinds of brilliant guest speakers. He said that for a crowd that size, how peaceful and cooperative they were was utterly unimaginable. |

I know him 20 years. He's always leaned towards the liberal side. But I believe his report. |

I'm sure I'll be hearing the same revisionist bullshit from my cousin over Christmas who was at Occupy Oakland. If these people were worked up enough to go to these events, they are extremely partisan and have a vested interest in painting the group as benevolent and the victim. I simply don't trust any of them and don't believe a word they say. If your friend was there as a willing participant, I think he's full of shit and is putting his partisanship above your friendship, trying to sway you to the cause. It's what liberals do. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but if he was out there, he's probably an asshole. If he jumps on Paltalk, you can tell him I said that. |
