My advice - save your money up, shop around on e-Bay, and buy yourself a nice old watch. There's lots to be found on there.

I would agree. You don't always have to go Swiss to get a quality item either. I have a 62/3 Citizen AutoDater Jet. It has a no hack ring winder that only Citizen and Longines have been known to use. Get to know the brands and you should soon know what you like.
