Default Sounds of issan
HI

As I set in my quiet house in USA I think back to some sounds of Issan.

One thing I remember is the noise is loud.
when you first wake up in the morning to the rooster crowing at dawn.
and the rest of the family starts getting up and ready for work or school
then the loud speakers in the village start playing music at about 5:30 to 6 AM. Then the local government official start talking telling you news or what will be going on that day. Next the tractors and cars and bus's start going. then you hear the children laughing and talking heading for school." not a place for late sleepers" after all this I take the pillow off my head and get up.

after the few hrs of noise in the morning it quiets down. you go out and sit in the front of the house. everyone who walks by says hi some stop and talk the silence is broken quite often by small trucks with their loud speakers driving by selling produce or eggs or something. then you can't miss the sound of the local tractors. their one lung makeing a poping sound you can hear from far away.

but it is not all loud at night it gets quiet. too quiet you can hear your neigbors talking or the baby crying 3 house's down. so any maritial bliss has to be done softly LOL. that's why I love the sound of rain on the tin roofs
It is so loud you can make all the noise you want. and no one can hear.

At any festival prepare for loud music I mean really loud.and at shopping and in markets more loud music. and the people always talk loud also.

the noise in Issan is not offensive but a happy sound just takes a little getting used to.

On one visit some of the women in the village were practicing for a singing competetion. so each night I would fall asleep to the sounds of the choir
singing traditional folk songs, and then if we got a rain storm at night. I was a very happy man.
