Putting stroke for chipping from the fringe or fairway, IF the distance is not that long (say....15 yards or less) AND if it is not uphill. I typically use a pitching wedge or 9 iron for these. Will go with gap wedge, 54* or 60* if I need to get the ball over something, or I need a really soft landing (tight pin placements).
Something like a hinge & hold for all other close-in situations where I'm taking less than 1/2 a swing. Really starting to love my CG15 wedges (54* & 60*) for these shots.
