Kristen- my first HCG round was in June and by the end of maintnance I had lost about 45 lbs. I managed to keep all of it off, until December when I got a little lax with my holiday eating....

Like i said- i am already down 19 in 19 days (so, really 17 on the VLCD).

remember that your trainer isn't an expert on anything but really pulling a paycheck training people. I have seen good trainers and bad trainers, and they don't really know what the HCG is doing to your body.... to be honest, they don't understand it at all most of the time.

Try doing some lighter excersice, cardio things, and see how it affects you... only you will now how your body is going to react to it.
my trainer is actually certified and a nutritionist. The information she gave me was before the hcg, she doesnt know I am taking it. She udnerstands muscle development and metabolism on its own and when I wasnt on hcg she said i needed to eat more, and when I was eating more i was losing more especially with working out.

My question was more or less how does that work with hcg with such a limited calorie intake? If your muscles need energy to develop how can they truly develop correctly on a limited intake? That's why i was curious about increasing protein if i was going to workout, in order to fuel my muscles i would need more food.

Again, I don't have a significant amount of weight to lose. I am 5'6 170lbs and I am a size 4, most of my weight is already muscle weight. I just want to rid myself of some fat in various areas but I don't want to lose the muscle that I already worked so hard to gain, im worried of atrophy.

I appreciate everyone's response on this. I am still curious, still learning, and still trying to find whats right for my body on this diet, as it is my first week, i will be learning all my adjustments this time around and be prepared for the second go around.
