When my dog was ready to go to sleep she would gather up the blanket she was laying on and get some in her mouth and suck on it like she was nursing just like a cat and her front paws would go up and down too. She was taken away from her mother early and she did this for probably the first 10 years. The only problem from it was it left a big wet spot on the blanket

It brought her comfort and I didn't see any reason to stop her.
