a nice long walk with both of them on leash will help them break the ice and see if they will bond.
don't have them meet nose to nose at first, take them for a walk, alternating where the dogs are walking (side by side, one ahead, then the other ahead, etc)
and watch their body language. let them sniff where the other marks.
usually dogs are more likely to be friends if they don't "meet" each other right off, it's less stressful to walk as a pack first.
