I know this isn't too relevant, but I did think it was extremely interesting. I'm doing psychology research on filicide (children murdered by their parents) and found out that:

* In 1995 the U.S. Advisory Board on Child Abuse and Neglect estimated that nearly 2,000 infants and young children die each year from abuse or neglect. (1)

There are about 30 dog fatalities a year. Even if half the number was from pit bulls (it's not, it's more like 2.5-3) , a child is 133 times more likely to be killed from a parent than a pit bull.

If we used real numbers, which is 3 pit bull fatalities, it's 667 (lol, did not mean that) more likely.

Also note that pit bulls are THE most popular dog. The number given earlier, I think 2 million, is extremely modest.
