We cal Sophie our little human. She is a dog and has her manners but at home in the privacy of our home, I talk to her and cuddle with her. She sleeps in bed with us. Our family feels that she has finaly earnd this right to sleep with us and lay on the couch. I think as long as you have control over your dog in public and in your home when others come over that it really doesn't matter. talking to my dog is also nice for me on a selfish level. I can let out all my frustrations and vent and then she'll give me a kiss like saying "you feel better now mom" The connection I have with my pup is undescribable and I wouldn't change it for the world.
