I used to break quite a few tees especially in colder weather when the ground's hard. I've switched to the plastic 3-pronged Zero Friction Tees. They rarely break... and they are available in a bunch of colors if you don't mind hunting around...
I found one of those on the course and started using it. They might not break but they bend and make it hard to get in the ground.
