Yeah, lemon laws are made to protect you if your car has had a problem that cannot be repaired, usually after three attempts. It is usually due to the car itself, not the mechanics who worked on it.
For example, one of my friends' parents bought a 2002 Nissan Altima when it came out. From new, it had constant engine problems. They got it repaired three times on the same problem, never got fixed, and they said "screw it", so they got their money back.
They went from two Altimas and an Xterra to an 06' Accord and an 07' Civic in literally a couple months after that.
