I've seen ice hockey now and again on the TV, mostly highlights, and I'm amazed that ref's can actually make a call on so many goals - seems the puck is in and out in a blink of an eye. I have trouble spotting it, sometimes, even in slow motion

Well, if they are unsure, they can always check it on video (they have extra ref at a control booth and the on-ice ref can call him to verify goal/no-goal at any time)
