There's definitely an element of them being a bit of a fashion accessory as well.

I always thought Apple products were aimed at females mostly, some of the stuff like the old i-macs and several macbooks look way too feminine. Apple does do a great job on marketing I will give them that, it took a while for Android to catch up IOS and surpass it.
