That simply won't work in the UK - if you've been convicted of speeding then there will be hard evidence of this, not just the statement of a police officer. The only time one could realistically get away with it is (a) you had genuine reason to be believe the speed recording equipment had malfunctioned or (b) you had legitimate reasons for speeding, beyond "it was an open road with no traffic."
In most cases LIDAR, Radar are considered hard evidence, and its nearly impossible to get out of them. Generally what people do is plead guilty and if the judge is nice usually you get supervision as long as the record is clean.

My 85 in a 55 was pure speculation on the officers part. She never matched my speed, so I got out of it because there was reasonable doubt as to the accuracy of the stated speed.

My 89 in a 55 was LIDAR, and I have no idea what was said between the Judge, and the Traffic Lawyer. All I know is that I paid him $150 outside and the ticket was basically dismissed. However, I was also the small fish in the room. At 89mph I was the slowest person there, the next person was doing 100mph+, one lady got nabbed for 140+ . The judge was lenient that day handing out supervision left and right.
