I recently worked on a house where the owner used a portable unit for cooling. he had rigged up some kind of system so that it ventend into the attic of his house. he had put a square duct vent in his cieling in each beedroom and one in his living room. I couldnt tell if the tube for the vent was held in place to the duct with some kind of magnetic system to the vent or a latch, but when he moved the unit to another room he would pull it down and close the duct in that room and move it into his bedroom at night. he said it only cost him about $20 per room for the duct materials and he did the work his self.
