I've been through this on another message board. As much as that story might be designed to demonize Turkey and prevent it's entrance into the EU this kind of crime is Kurdish in origin and is not reflective of Turkey itself. When they are in Iraq they are Kurdish when they are in Turkey they some how become Turks.

Well it might be a particular ethnic group (although I have not read that to be honest) but "honour killings" account for half of all murders in Turkey, so that's not insignificant.
