Digital Projects Manager (I'm taking over as head of technology in June though - hence the company car mentioned in the other thread). It's more interesting than it sounds....I get to run all the web projects we have. On my current big project I have 5 outsourced teams (2 UK, 1 in Germany, 2 in India) to manage as well as our in-house team of designers, developers and account managers. Then there are always mini-projects cropping up that require delegating to account managers and developers.

My last job was a senior developer (before that developer, designer, junior developer) so it's quite challenging compared to that. As a developer you are exposed to a degree of project management in the course of your job, but it's only when I moved full-time to project management that I encountered the intricacies of budgets, finance departments, scheduling, outsourcing, resource allocation, mentoring, coaching, personal dispute solving and supplier issues. Oh and the sheer lack of co-operation people give you if they feel they have been left out of a process. It is not my fault if the client only decides you are useful to the project at the last minute lol, but I still have to appease them.

I notice a few people are saying they are out of work, so in case anyone is interested I am looking for a digital account manager in North Manchester, UK. PM me for details if interested.
