Yeh, those kind of placement agencies are a scam! I have never had to pay money to a recruitment agency that has found me a job. The cost is always paid by the employer. If any agency asks the candidate to pay then you should run a mile.

I know recruitment agencies get a bad press but as a candidate I have always had excellent service from them. As an employer though, I have to say my experience is 50/50 love hate. Too many agencies are too pushy and send through candidates that have not been vetted and have no experience.
