An interesting point though, is that while Mr Sagan was an avowed skeptic and agnostic, he did not feel the need to denigrate others with different beliefs. He stated his case calmly, logically, and as persuasively as he could, but entirely without acrimony.

I mention this because over at the video thread, some of those who say they respected and admired Mr Sagan are now on an angry, name calling attack against those who have expressed other thoughts, primarily about religion.

I can't help but think that they have missed some of the most important points made by the person they say they admired so much. Perhaps there would be a benefit from contemplating the words from Pale Blue Dot again?

Whatever............. Perhaps its me who doesn't get it.
