Question is, why would you want another one of those knuddly hairballs, that roam the house as it were their´s, leaving a trace of hair and scratch marks on all you belongings and occasional peeing on something cause they can´t deal with having another in their territory ?
Honestly if my wife would ever leave me, that would be the moment i´ll feed the cat´s to my snakes.

but back to your question,
My wife says a good trick is taking a old towel where your cats like to rest/reside on, and rub the new cat a bit with it,
that way the new cat will have a familiar smell and apparently that´s like signing a peace agreement for cats
(of course she didn´t read the first half of my post
