Professors might have strict rules placed on them. He might not be doing it to be a prick. Its quite possible the college requires that in ANY instance of academic dishonesty he MUST report it no matter how trivial otherwise his job is at stake.
Clearly what you've done isn't a huge issue. While its technically wrong, its socially acceptable. You used a well known logo, pointed back to the source various times, and anyone in the right mind would clearly understand who owns the logo. Its not like the dude on ebay who took the crysis logo and stuck his ebay name on it. That was wrong. See the 8800GT oc resitor thingy bob thread, that's an example of how not to steal someone's copyrights. Modifying someone's logo is a big no-no, especially when you're tagging it as your own.
IMO he knows it'll get ignored and he's covering his arse and yours. You've been notified it was wrong, he reported it was wrong, and in the end nobody will really care. But everyone did their job properly and no heads roll. I think my profs are like that. On-line courses seem to be hardcore on plagiarism. All my profs have brought it up.
If he was a real **** he'd want you to cite your For Next loop. :P
