One of my co-workers, who is a fan of the Batman comics, said that he didn't like it as much as he thought he would because the Joker was "too real." Since the Joker is a comic character, the darkness/realism portrayed in the movie didn't coincide with the way he pictured the Joker as a comic character.

Dunno if this makes sense to anyone, but it wouldn't be a problem for me.
