I was at CERN two days ago, the place is incredible, I "only" got to see ATLAS but boy the size of the operation they are running there is overwhelming, I'm gonna try to get into their summer school program next year once I finish my first 3 years as an undergraduate Physics student.

But regarding the black holes thing, well yes the collider will form mini black holes but they will be so small and of such low energies that they will immediately dissipate into radiation, so there is nothing to worry about.
Perhaps we should start breeding genetically engineered Gordon Freemans, you know, just in case. [help] Could we just make sure he kills Dr. Vance as he is coming out of CERN just so Alyx "Nagging me till I die" Vance isn't born?
