What do you think will be the next great and wides pread technology of the coming decade?

I believe car navigational units, such as TomTom, will be the next great big technology. These gadgets have the ability to send everyone to their destination in the fastest possible route. I believe it will add a significant amount to people's leisure time and possibly a nation's GDP.

are you just talking about GPS? if so, they are widely available already, but yeah...they will become standard in the near future.

If your talking about Cars that drive themselves via computer, then you might really be on to something revolutionary. I think computer controlled cars at first on specific routes (liek interstates) then any major highway... anyways, imo, this is the transport technology in the near future. Computer controlled cars are profoundly more efficient, and you can nearly double the capacity and half the travel time of a typical commute.
