I'm flying from Eindhoven airport in Holland to Stansted in the UK tomorrow morning, for a mates wedding on Sunday. I was intending to take my suit with me in a suit bag, as carry on luggage. The coathanger is wooden, with a metal hook, which terminates in a ball-end, so it is not sharp in any way.

I just gave the airport a call to check, explaining all this - and they said that I would not be allowed through security with a coathanger, even though its 95% wooden, with a rounded metal hook!

They did say however (and this is genius) - that I could take the suit bag as carry on, with my suit in it, but WITHOUT a coathanger.

Struggling to keep my cool, I asked the woman on the phone how she proposed that I keep my suit in any kind of usable condition in a suit bag without a hanger? [rolleyes]

Looks like I'll be wearing my suit on the plane tomorrow then.....
That crossed my mind too.
Todays airport security rules are [cursing]
