When we were kids my mate had a job on top of my cities cathedral (Worcester Cathedral which was on the back of a £20 note), doing tower duty (the stairs to get on top of the tower were so narrow u had to radio to another person if people with going up them or down). So anyway; one day he was on top of the tower and lightning hit the lightning conductor just a few metres away from him - well funny (he was fine). He said it scared the crap out of him big time though. Wish I could see lightning that close
