Well this thread took a weird turn! While I agree that killing anything is bad, a pet is very different. Wild squirrels don't have names or fuzzy beds to sleep in. They don't provide long term companionship to an older couple either. I would like to thank everyone for their kind words. Still think about that poor dog, but really it was an accident and I am very happy the owner understood that. Could have been really nasty about it.
