Because they come from where all the 419 scammers do. That's different, IMHO.

You never know what sort of people they are.(The scammers, that is.)

I wouldn't be so sure that his dojo is the only that has received this letter. And yes, of course this is a scam. I have heard about similar emails to clubs before, and sports events are a common way to flee into a different country. I know that Gothia Cup (world's largest youth soccer event, hosted in Gothenburg, Sweden) have had problems with this from year to year. Interesting. I've never heard of groups being sent scam letters before. hehehe, You learn something new every day!
