okay, I dont wanna hear some weird bs siding with either kumdo or kendo. They are the same thing. Same kata(besides bonguncompup), same everything else. The only difference is that some kumdo people like wearing that white and black hakama for some reason. They also yell different things. etc etc

now. Which of the two have more competitive tournaments? And can(for example) 3rd degree black belts in kendo go to both the tournaments? Which of the two do world kendo championship people look at the most? Do wkc people in the us look at kumdo at all?

please, i don't wanna hear the "kumdo has better sparring" or "kendo is cleaner" bs. Its really the individual and what he does.
No offense, but it seems pretty stupid to just automatically assume people here will spout off "bullshit". Furthermore, you're only difference is not a difference at all. If you wanna wear a white gi with black hakama in kendo, you are free to do so (one of my senpai does this actually). If you mean the complete white gi + white hakama with black stripe, that is just the official uniform the Korean team uses.

Now I am a beginner. Been doing kendo since march or so but from what I understand, kendo and kumdo are the same. Some rituals/terminology and stuff might be different but that's it. In fact, I assume the Korean team trains kumdo instead of kendo (them being Korean and all:P) and they always perform just fine on the WKC. So is one better then the other? No, they are essentially the same thing. Is one more competitive then other? Hell no, that depends on the player, not the sport.
