Indeed, the uneasy alliance between the more rational minded fiscal Conservatives and the often outrageous Social Cons is a strange one indeed!

I really don't get the social cons that try to say they are fiscally conservative as well. Santorum was just funny. He said he was fiscally conservative because to counter title X (sex ed in school spending), he made title XX (abstinece(sp) ed in school spending). Its like "Oh, you are fiscally conservative cause you doubled the uncostitutional spending that you disliked so much. That makes it better".

Reminds me of a movie quote from Contact. "Why spend money on one toy when you can get 2 for twice the price?"0

I think a lot of the dissatisfaction with the GOP comes from people sick of seeing idiots like Santorum in the spotlight all the time. Its a similar problem to the Dems, the idiots whore all the attention (and $$$) to themselves. Yeah, I am sure not all dems are as bad as Charlie Rangle, Pelosi, Reed, Obama, Shultz, Finestein, etc, but they are the biggest loud mouths that get news coverage all the time like Santorum.
