Biking is useless. As Gnius said, just eat some soup.
Idiot*, and I said why soup's a good idea.

*You yourself said "... I feel adding cardiovascular exercise to your lifestyle is one of the few ways to permanently keep weight off. Thirty-minutes of cardio about 5 days a week will help you shed weight, and keep it off. .."
GNIUS was dismissing 30 minutes of biking (a low impact cardio-vascular exercise) and my comment was because some people barely turn the pedals and others go flat out [the benefits] would depend on how hard one pedalled.
As an aside, top cyclists are supposedly producing more than 1 horsepower at times, certainly a significant use of energy and even an enthusiastic cycle machine user should be using a significant amount of energy.

As I doubt you've ever tried riding any form of bike, let alone 'riding' it hard, I expect you'll also dismiss that.
