“The Salutation of the Victor” [salatu-l fâtih] is a benediction revered by the spiritual masters of Al-Maghrib (Morocco). In the Tijaniyyah sufi way, this salutation occupies an exalted position. A detailed exposition of this beautiful prayer can be found on the following websites:

Our Shaikhuna informs us in his Hajj guide that the luminous Arusi-Qadiri master, Sayyid Muhammad Bukhari Tangal (kannanur bukhari tangal) of Cannore (Kerala, India), frequently recited this salutation.

Shaikh Muhammad al-Mawlood al-Tijani, a spiritual guide who resides in the Hijaz, gives a general ijaza for this salutation and advises both his students and guests to be steadfast in reciting it 50 times every Friday.

Shaikh Idris al-Iraqi, a Hadith scholar from Morocco, emphatically states that all who visit the beloved Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) in the citadel should recite this salutation 100 times before raising one’s hands in humble entreaty. It is a tried and tested means for the acceptance of one’s supplication.

Success is from Allah.

Salat al Fatih

The Salutation of the Victor

Allâhumma salli ‘alâ sayyidinâ Muhammadini-l fâtihi limâ ughliq, wa-l khâtimi limâ sabaq, nâsiri-l haqqi bi-l haqq, wa-l hâdi ilâ sirâtika-l mustaqîm, wa ‘alâ âlihi haqqa qadrihi wa miqdârihi-l azîm.

O Allah, bless our liege-lord Muhammad who opened what was closed and who sealed what had gone before; he makes the Truth Victorious by the Truth and he is the guide to thy straight path; and bless his household as it befits his immense stature and splendour.

And Allah is the Guide.
