If Cuba was allowed to make its revolution in peace, other people in Latin America might get the notion to try something similar. In fact, people did, despite the terrorism and embargo we've wages on them for fifty years. Other countries outside Latin America can be allowed to go Communist, but tributaries of the Empire are not allowed to try to be independent.
