Iraqi Arabs are Arabians no Mesopotamian at all. They are just an extension of Arabian tribes and have strong ties to Kuwait, Saudi and Bahrain. They almost have nothing in common with Levantines and let alone other Semites. Most Iraqis see more commonality with the Gulf rather than with the Levant. Interesting people they are, my favorite of all Middle Easterners and the ones I respect the most.

Only those neccessary sure, for example, it would be important Yemeni Jews have the utmost respect they can get from their Muslim neighbours. Ashkenazim, Sephardim should accept also their European cultural acquistions too. For the latter it is pan-Mediterranean/Semite, for the Ashkenazim i presume Central-Eastern European/Semite. Where does one draw the line though. Aren't the Maltese supposably Semites too? IMO, i have no interest in seeing a superficial bonding between Jews and Arabs. I would instead rather see a tolerance and recognition for their differences.

Iraqi Arabs don't like Lebanese people very much or other Levantines. Despite the war with Kuwait and the political issues with the Gulf in general. The Iraqis many of them have strong bond to the Gulf, and admiration as well respect, this because it's encoded in their blood it seems. Iraqis don't dwell on their mythical pre-Arab ancestors when they did not even exist like the Levantines. Most Iraqi Arabs will tell you they are proud to be of Bedouin origins so I think this speaks for itself. Pan-Semitism is joke, because Iraqis don't want to be with Levantines for example. I know a lot of Iraqis because we have large community here, they all claim to have ancestors from Yemen or Arabia. Hell I don't know, I'm not privy to any sort of old world Lebanon shit. As a westerner you could see though why I would choose to associate myself more with the Greek side of the Med. Plus it was upbringing too. My family always distanced themselves from the arab moniker and assimilated well. I don't know about this feud going on but it sounds like bullshit to me. They experience mostly in North America mostly. Though the dislike does seem to be rooted in the old world. Yes I do see that.
