So I walk into this Mexican restuarant order my food and sit on the chair to watch tv...needless to say TeleMundo was on lol jk...(the show that was on was hilarious and I dont even speak spanish)...anyway this is the first time I really noticed it but it seems as though TeleMundo does not at all represent the spanish community (it was basically a white out)
Is this the truth or am I jumping to conclusions? Keep in mind I dont watch Telemundo only in passing on several occasions |

Oh so white people and black people think in different ways and are unable to be entertained by the same programmes? For most of American history, it was impossible to see black characters/people in magazines, books, tv shows etc unless the broadcasting/production element was black owned. Since the two cultural groups were separate. That is the reason for all the different black magazines and things such as BET. There is no reason for white Americans to have a television station devoted to themselves, as there is no deficit in media in which whites can identify with. |

In a sense yes. People want to see characters that they can identify with. There are more white characters, but there are more white people in America overall. |

Yeah basically, Black humor is a bit different. Different things aren't funny simply because of what skin colour you have. That is a ridiculous thing to say. ---------- Post added 2012-06-16 at 22:00 ---------- Yep, they are funnier than whites. ![]() |

Unfortunely on a negative way, because people know Bet was created as blacks woudl get an opportunity on a default US channel, but people will think WET is a channel with a racist background @ jib humor just depends on your taste and education/intelligence. I love Fraiser, family guy, Richard Dawkins is Hilarious (seriously), But I also love Kevin hart, Dane cook, Southpark, comic view on BET, and straight up coonery Comedy.. (when I unleash my inner coon) |
