Default Burress: No Work Release?
Melissa Grace, of the New York Daily News, reports Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau's office will oppose free-agent WR Plaxico Burress' (Giants) bid to enter a work release program, sources said Monday, Dec. 7. Burress applied for the state corrections department program a day before Thanksgiving - and less than two months into the two-year prison sentence he is serving on gun possession charges. Prison officials are expected to rule on the request next month. The program allows inmates to live at home and work at a pre-approved job, but also forces them to return to prison as many as three days and nights a week.
