The Patriots are unstoppable but for BB to run up the score proves to me he has no class. I dont think anyone is going to beat them but if someone does i hope they run up the score and see how they like it.

I'm not sure what the mediots hate worse.
The fact the Belichick runs up the score... Or the fact that Belichick doesn't give a rat's ass that the media complains about him running up the score. The guy talks about the Pats going for it on 4th down late in the game. Shit, every other team goes for it, too, rather than putting up the 3 points. By going for it, you give the defense the chance to stop them rather than taking the easy three points for the score. The Pats are running up the score. Belichick may be classless. But the media sucks every which way. And, there's the tried and true method of "if you don't like them scoring, stop them." If you don't want to be embarassed, hit them in the mouth and stop them. And I have Brady and Moss on my fantasy team. So they can run up whatever score they want. |

I hate the patriots but I dont see anything wrong with a team scoring while there is time on the clock....what if by some chance the redskins got a few breaks here or there and ended up coming back?
I remember a game a few years ago the colts were down by 21 against the Bucs with 3 minutes left and they ended up coming back to win the game....Anything can happen in football. Its better to answer questions about running up the score then to answers questions after the game about how you shut down the offense and the other team came back to win. |

Either way, in any game I can remember watching, in a blowout game in the 4th quarter deep in the opponents territory, the offense has ALWAYS went for it on 4th down rather than kick the FG. Kicking the FG is a sure way of running up the score. Going for it gives the defense the chance to keep the points off the board. The only people to blame that TD on would be the Redskins for not stopping it.

And for the record, call it running up the score on any other TD pass or whatever after it was 28-0, I won't disagree. But not for the 4th and short in the 4th qtr. To call that running up the score ignores ever other NFL team that goes for it on 4th down late in the game with a big lead (when a FG is an option).
