Default Importing NFL Stats into Excel
Does anyone know of a quick and easy way to import NFL team stats as seen here:

http://www.nfl.com/stats/teamsort/NF...r?sort_col_1=4

into Excel? I'm trying to make a custom spreadsheet to view the data of the current week's matchups a little easier than what I've seen at any (free) website. I'll gladly post anything I arrange for anyone to use if they'd like. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me with this.

I know of a way to do it, but you need Frontpage to make it happen. If you have that, here's what to do:

1] Access the page's source code (Ctrl + U for Mozilla)
2] Find the beginning of the table that has the stats
3] Copy all of the code for that table, go into Frontpage, and select the "Code" tab to insert HTML code
4] Paste the table code into the window
5] Click on "Design" and you'll have the table right there
6] Select the entire table, go into Excel, and paste the table
7] Huzzah!

It pastes it into one cell, not all of them. I've tried selecting a region of cells and the entire document while pasting but it didn't work.

A friend of mine said something about being able to import it as tab seperated vaules...I'm gonna see if I can get that to work

are you sure it's pasting it into one cell? I just did it and it pasted it into all the cells, it got rid of the formatting so that you can't see the cell boarders but it did paste into multiple cells.(for the heck of it I even highlighted the entire document and went to format and borders and put borders on the inside and outside to be sure)

if not there may be a setting on your excel that is messed up. (sometimes you have to use text to.(grid?)...(I can't remember the name, it's up in tools, at work don't have excel here)

Text to columns function. It's in the Data menu.

Same here, i got it pasted into excel just fine, just had to select the grid to show up from the top tool menu.

Reformat your rows/columns, take the hyperlinks out of the sheet, you should be good to go.
