Comprehending the attitude or behavior of people is fairly difficult. It is difficult get answers from people. Worse would be is to predict what their answers could be. Predicting would be something like astrology. But how accurate are astrological predictions?
Strange but real stories of astrological predictions coming true do exist. Take for example a story that I would like to relate. It was one of those days I was in my early twenties. As usual after work I used to go to the Indian club in Colombo to spend some time with friends. Members were mostly Indian professionals and many times we met new friends. I was introduced to a young man who worked in a local bank. After chatting for a while he asked me for the date of my birth. I jokingly asked him if he was having some one whom I would want to marry. He said no but he could predict some things about my future. Well though my father and mother believed in astrology I myself was not all that serious about astrology or for that matter did not place much trust on astrological predictions. I also know that there are astrologers who would be chatting to you and get most of the answers from you in a way you really would not notice. When he predicts your future you seem to think he is good astrologer. However, I had not said much to him on that first day when I met him. A few days later I met him again. After a short chat he said he had made some conclusions looking at the astrological connections of Lagnas, Stars and the movement of Planets related to my date of birth. I had really forgotten I had mentioned my date of birth to him on our first meeting. He had a paper on which he had written that Raghu Dasa would influence me for a period of ten years. He had written the year and the date on it when this would start and according to him it would be two years and some months from that day he handed me the paper. He predicted that I would settle down in a Scandinavian country for the rest of my life. He also said the country that I would live is one influenced by Venus. I put this paper away in my diary and forgot all about it. Two years later I applied for professional education in London and gained admission to a college. When I had made all arrangements to leave for London I remembered the piece of paper I was handed over by this person from the Bank. When I found it back and reading through it I realized that I was leaving for London exactly within the two weeks he had predicted. What all happened after that is now history. Strangely I never thought of going to an astrologer to know anything about my future ever. If any one reading this story has a similar story please write to Chennai forums. |
