Actually, I haven't seen any pool or bowling places in BKK. I did see them in other cities though.
Bangkok has some great bowling allies. All the good ones I've been too have been up high 7 floors or so off the ground. Just as good as any bowling allies in the world.

Pool I haven't seen many good halls, I know they are there but I just haven't gone seeking them. I hear a lot about the halls set up for farangs but I never went. I've seen pool halls but not on the competitive level that I am used to.

As for hobbies, playing video games, modifying mobile phones, and drinking are probably the most common. If it's sporting hobbies, badminton, soccer, that wicker hackey sack game and now even basketball. Basketball is catching on and the Thais like it although they are not that good yet.
