When we have training seminars we usually go to eat at the local fast-food restaurant, and since we start practicing again after lunh many people go in bogu. I look at it like I'm spreading the word of kendo. Every one in awhile some kid comes up and askes you why you're wearing those strange clothes, thats when you try to make them start kendo. Once I had to ride the bus in bogu since we had practice outside with no-where to change. But I try to avoid wearing sweaty kendo equipment among other people, it doesn't do anybody any good.

Has anyone ever had to, or has worn their bogu in other places besides your dojo?

My cousin once wore his bogu to the Mall, because we planned to go to the mall after picking up my cousin from his kendo dojo. He didnt care much if he wore his bogu to the mall or not, and actually he thought it would be quite cool, so he just said to go straight to the mall instead of going back home to change. When people looked at him in the mall, they were like O_o, or they just looked at him in a way that they like the bogu..lol.
When I get my bogu in 5 months, Im planning to wear it on Halloween next year ^_^.

So, has anyone else wore their bogu in other places?

I wore mine to work once, it was when i first got into bogu and it was Halloween. Everyone thought it was so cool and I won a $20 gift certificate for "best costume." I also wore it a couple of times in high school. That was for Japanese Club and i was promoting an event.
